Our company is built around a core of engineering and executive staff who have worked together developing storage management software since the late 1980s. BridgeHead Software was originally the storage management laboratory for Raxco / UIS, the largest independent software vendor for the Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) VMS marketplace,  Over one thousand enterprise class DEC customers used our software for archiving, backup, HSM, and media management to ensure data protection, compliancy with regulations, and automation of complex and media-intensive operations.  As DEC is often credited with developing the Storage Area Network (SAN), our heritage in working with the first platform to deploy modern storage management concepts has been instrumental in helping us develop and evolve our storage software tools through the decades as platforms, open systems and Windows have emerged and technologies continue to mature.
